Dimitri Gerakaris '69 sent me a note updating us on the downstream impact of our Class philanthropy grants.
"One of our clearly stated goals of providing funds for Dartmouth student philanthropists is to inculcate the love of philanthropy plus to help them develop the skills to carry on with such work after graduation and well into the rest of their lives.
John Godfrey Cook Jr, age 70, of Appleton, passed away on May 24th 2017. His last day was spent in Costa Rica, his favorite place. John was born on January 14th, 1947, in Park Forest, IL, to parents John Godfrey Cook Sr and Phyllis Shaffer. He attended Crystal Lake High School. He was a proud graduate of Dartmouth College and obtained his MBA at Loyola University in Chicago.
DREAM, the Dartmouth founded nonprofit that our class is sponsoring (2016 award), is a finalist in the running for a $100K grant from NRG Gives. The winner is decided by an online public vote that runs through May 19th. Let’s help them win!
