Cameron, Bruce Thomas (3/20/2007)

Bruce Thomas Cameron of Brattleboro, Vermont, died at home on March 20, 2007 after a long struggle with lung cancer. Bruce grew up in Hanover, the son of Donald W. Cameron ’35, who worked for many years at the College, and Elizabeth C. Cameron. He attended Hanover schools and entered Dartmouth as a sophomore. Bruce majored in Religion and graduated cum laude. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and the Newman Club. After graduation, he received a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Germany and was also awarded a James B.

Myrianthopoulos, Leon Cimonos (11/13/2006)

Leon Myrianthopoulos died at the age of 60 on October 17, 2006, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Cyprus, Leon majored in physics at Dartmouth and played varsity soccer. He was nicknamed “The Wall” by his teammates and in 1967 he was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American and a first team All-Ivy. Leon earned M. S. and Ph.D. degrees in high-energy physics from the University of Chicago, where he joined the medical physics faculty in 1983.

The Adoption: How it all started... admin

Sometimes the impact of something that seems small in the moment turns out to be substantial. The ripple effect. Here are some musings on my accidental role in recognizing and adopting a group of pioneering women into the Class of 1969.

As our Class Web-ster, I always struggle to find fresh content for our Class web site. One evening in the early spring of 2005 not long after after having rebuilt our site, I was looking at my Dartmouth-era photos and hoping for inspiration. I came across a picture of me with Binky Wood in the basement of Foley House:

Mills, Clifford W. (8/16/2015)

Clifford W. Mills, Jr., died in Jacksonville, Florida on August 16, 2015. He was born in Connecticut in 1947, obtained his B.A. from Dartmouth College (the infamous class of 1969), and his Master's from Boston University. His career at John Wiley & Sons, Publishers, spanned over 35 years; he was an editor of many diverse disciplines, a publisher for the sciences, and, in his later years, a freelance project manager. He moved from Westport, Connecticut to New Hampshire to raise his son in the magical town of Meriden, where he and his wife Rosemary lived for 25 years.

Verb, John Robert (3/22/2005)

John R. Verb of Somerville, NJ, died March 22, 2005. John had resided in New Jersey nearly all his life, born in New Brunswick, raised in Helmetta and lived in Somerville the past 20 years. After graduation, John served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant on the ammunition ship USS Nitro AE-23. He received his M.B.A. from Stanford University in 1974. John was a builder who owned and operated Moorehouse Construction Co. in Somerville, and was a member of the Somerville Architectural Review Board.
