Right around the time of our reunion, Harry, a frequent contributor to The ’69 Times, died while running, one of his favorite activities. The following is the obituary which Steve Larson wrote for the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine.
Harry Brinkerhoff Doyle died June 19, 2004, when his heart failed while participating in a trail run in the hills above Palo Alto, California. Harry spent his working career as a banker in the Denver area, and beyond his family, his real love was running. He was on the cross country team at Dartmouth and continued that pursuit throughout his life, running many races including two Boston Marathons. He is remembered by those who knew him as always having a positive attitude and for his constant encouragement to others, whether discussing careers in banking, or tips to improve their running. Harry was loved by many and will be missed. He is survived by his wife Diana; son Barry and daughter-in-law Kim; his daughter Devon; parents Harry, Jr. and Nancy; sister Nancy Scott and his brother Richard.
