On Tuesday, April 12 at 5 pm Eastern Time, we will have a two-guest Jewish Culture Group Zoom session.  As with all such conversations, they are open to all, and will not be recorded.

One speaker will be the return of Ethan Levine, who spoke to us last year about Hillel at Dartmouth. Ethan is a Dartmouth ‘03 and Thayer ‘05 and currently serves on the Hillel at Dartmouth Board as Treasurer. He will give us an update of the progress made since the last Zoom, including the hiring of a new Rabbi in Hanover.  The Hillel Rabbi has traditionally served the Upper Valley Jewish community.  He will also talk to us about any progress made in moving Hillel out from being part of Dartmouth College, a status that has caused serious problems in its operations: Try getting the College to approve the purchase of bagels for Oneg Shabbat.  Seriously, if it weren’t so absurd.

Our second guest will be Jennifer Weiner from AIPAC. Her brief bio and a description of what AIPAC is and its program are below. It is now more critical than ever that we appreciate the perilous lot of the Jewish State and the one true democracy in the Middle East.   Just as with Charles Murray, we expect everyone to treat Ms. Weiner with respect.

See the materials below for further information.  If you wish to join us, please email arthur.fergenson@ansalaw.com by the close of business on the Friday preceding, to wit, April 8.

Jennifer Friedrich Weiner

Jennifer Friedrich Weiner is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Greater Philadelphia, Area Director. In her role Jennifer oversees all AIPAC activity in the Philadelphia area.

Jennifer has been with AIPAC for 3 years. Prior to that she was as an attorney for Kline & Specter P.C. in Philadelphia, PA.

Jennifer was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and earned her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Juris Doctorate from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

While Jennifer is happy to be a recovering attorney and have to opportunity to dedicate her career to ensuring a safe and secure Israel, she is also involved in Jewish communal life here at home through her synagogue, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and other organizations.

Advancing the U.S.-Israel Relationship AIPAC supports policies that strengthen and expand the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance the security of the United States and Israel.

AIPAC advocates for vital security assistance to Israel, the development of cooperative missile defense programs, strategic partnership across a broad array of sectors, and the promotion of peace through a negotiated two-state agreement—a secure Jewish state of Israel living alongside a demilitarized Palestinian state. We work to address shared threats to American and Israeli security—including blocking Iran’s pursuit of a nuclear weapon, addressing Iran’s regional aggression and fighting terrorism. We also work to end Israel’s isolation in international forums and combat efforts to boycott, sanction or divest from the Jewish state.
