Class Connections Sports Management Panel
On April 9, the Class of 1969 hosted a well-attended panel discussion on Sports Management careers. It was open to the entire Dartmouth community. It was organized by Class Connections Co-Chairs Dona Heller and Norman Jacobs.
The three ’69 panelists were Sandy Alderson (General Manager of the New York Mets), Russ Granik (former Deputy Commissioner of the NBA and now a sports banker at Galatioto Sports Partners), and Bob Sturges (a partner in the Miami Heat). Rounding out the panel were Buddy Teevens ’79 (Dartmouth Head Football Coach), Catie Griggs ’03 Tuck ’09 (VP for Business Operations at Atlanta United Soccer), and Andrea Perez Tuck ’08 (VP for global branding/marketing at Nike).
The panelists all did a fabulous job, talking with the students about careers in various sub-fields under the Sports Management umbrella, and advising them about ways to prepare for and pursue those positions.
