Spouses and Partners on the Attending List

I would advocate including spouses and partners on the list of announced attendees. Some who have not attended reunion have indicated to me they think it's just a gathering of the good ol' boys even though we tell them different. Let's show it is predominantly a couples affair. Add Jill Ford as my hot date.

Including spouses/partners

I asked about that in the beginning and was told to keep it simple. I can change the form going forward. Very few have listed a spouse or partner, but I can update those who have.

Sign-up link

I'm going blind or senile. Where are the sign-up buttons and links for the 50th that gets a Classmate onto the list? Thought they were in several different places, such as the Main Page but I don't see it/them. Do they disappear because I am signed up??

Sign-up links

I don't know why you don't see them. I haven't moved them or changed them, and I can see them both logged in and not logged in. They are links in:

  • The Reunion Home document
  • The Invitation letter

There is no link exposed on the Home landing page because the questionnaire is 'open'  and would be easy prey for bots if there were a top-level link rather than a deep-link.

Attendance Sign-Up

OK, I found them both.Thought there was a link (and would like to see one) under the "5oth Reunion Information" box in the top right column.

The sign-in box allows for the classmate but has a short character limit for adding a spouse/partner. The max characters needs to be expanded. I just signed up my roomie Peter Schenck and Marion Roydhouse - not enough characters allowed.

Deep versus exposed linking

There has never been an 'exposed' link in that box, and I don't plan to put one there. The original text box was sized for one name, not two. I neglected to check the text box parameters when I changed to two names. My bad. Fixed.

The No and Don't Know reponses

Peter,

I am just as interested in the No and Don't know responses as I am to the Yes-Maybe-Probably responses. Are you getting any of those to the online questonnaire? I'll ask Rick if he's getting any cards to these categories.

No and Don't Know responses

I have been listing the Yes and Maybe responses, and spouse/partner if indicated.

Rick has been getting the No and Don't Know responses. He forwards them to me so I can check to see if we have theircurrentt email address, but I do not plan to list them, as that would feel punitive to some/many.

The list grows (163)

I still need the No replies and Maybe if not on the web page list. I don't intend to see the" No's" posted but rather remove them as clutter from my targeted communications. So, please communicate the No's to me in a private email.

Typo in my fraternity brother: Mike Kearney, not "Kearny"

With this number (163) is it a pain to reformat to double-column? If so, forget it. If it can be, it is both more pleasing to the eye to fill the page, easier to scroll and find names, and more impressive as a momentum-builder.

I will write a note to all the "single" guys and gals to see if they intend to bring a spouse, partner, friend, personal trainer, etc. Again, more impressive, but it's the implied message to newbies and those who haven't been back for 25+ years that "Reunion is for Lovers:" more of a couples affair than single old men drinking in a tent, reliving their misspent youth.

Replies to 'the list grows'
  • You will have to ask Rick for the list of those who have said 'NO' as I have not been listing or saving them and cannot imagine going through all my emails to find them.
  • Typo fixed.
  • Nearly impossible to format into two columns that 'flow' if I add someone in the first column. This is partly because this is a 'responsive' tool designed to be read not just on a computer but also a mobile device, where columns are a no-no. I can - and plan to - paginate it at some time soon.

Of course

This one is a no-brainer. Of course we list them.
