How should the Class of '69 pursue student philanthropy?
For about 10 years, we have been giving an annual one-time 'grant' of between $5,000 and $10,000 to a student organization. We have focused on student created and run initiatives because we are more interested in helpingstudnets develop philanthropic skills and commitments than to just supporting specific ongoing projects.
How should we manage this going forward? Should we be giving larger grants or more than one a year? Should we be offering support for other specific student or academic items? Should we be thinking about supporting an internship?
